The Physiotherapy Innovation Laboratory is a research group based within the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation at University of Northumbria at Newcastle

Our research involves a translational multidisciplinary approach to understand human movement and develop novel clinical assessment and rehabilitation tools

We work across a variety of clinical research areas, specifically; 

• Mechanistic understanding of how the brain controls movement

• Age-related and neurological disorders

• Digital health and novel technology for clinical assessment and rehabilitation
